采集器是电力用户用电采集系统中的关键设备之一，是对居民用户用电信息进行采集的设备，可以实现电能表数据的采集等，并对采集数据进行管理和双向传输。主要应用于各类居民需要进行用电信息采集和用电分析的场所。
采集器为居民低压集中抄表系统提供了全新的自动化概念，将电压监测、远程抄表、无线通信等功能综合考虑，实现二层式居民集中抄表，相比传统的载波集中器的三层集中抄表方案有效降低了网络复杂度与运行维护难度，提高了通信可靠性；并且在加强 设备安全监视、预防事故，为线损管理、降低线损、提高运行管理和经济运行水平等提供科学依据。
采集器功能特点：
1、 可通过RS485或RF等方式进行抄表，能够抄读50个系统表计的数据并进行存储。
2、可通过GPRS/CDMA、以太网等方式远程及通过本地通信口进行参数设置。
3、可通过GPRS/CDMA、以太网等方式远程连接主站软件，主站软件可召读采集器数据，完成电能量数据抄表。
4、具备可靠的安全措施，防止非授权人员设置参数。
5、可进行自检。
6、可进行远程维护、远程升级等功能。
